2020 Advent Devotional

In order to help you engage daily with Advent, we are sending our devotions to you via email or text message each day. You can expect the email to arrive sometime before 6 AM each day and your text link to arrive around 7. We will also be posting via social media (Facebook and Instagram) around noon. Each of these posts will contain the same content, though they will each come through to your device a little bit differently.

We hope that this helps you and your family dig a little deeper and experience a more holy Advent this year.

Want to sign up? Use the sidebar at right (below on mobile) to enter your information for emails or find the instructions for text alerts. Each post will appear on this page after it goes live—a digital Advent Calendar for you!

Trinity is also providing Advent Kits for our congregation. Learn more about Advent Kits here.

Advent Facebook Group

This year we are adding a group element to our Advent Devotional. Each afternoon we will post a reflection question in our Experiencing Advent Together Facebook Group. This is an opportunity for you to reflect on your experience with the Advent Devotional with others. We encourage you to join that group if you are on Facebook.

Christmas Eve Worship

Celebrate Christ’s birth at Trinity. We will have two worship services on Thursday, December 24, for you and your family.
    • 4:00 PM Kids’ Christmas Pageant (online)
    • 8:00 PM Christmas Eve worship service (online)
Learn more about Christmas at Trinity.

Regarding our advertised and much anticipated 6:00 PM service: It is with great sadness that we have decided to cancel this outdoor worship experience. Having explored a variety of alternatives to no avail, and given the current state of the pandemic in the Richmond area, we have cancelled this in-person Christmas Eve experience.
Loving our neighbors is our first job, and we feel that to do so well, we must move forward with only virtual Christmas Eve services this year. We thank you for your grace and your understanding and we hope to worship with you online at 4:00 or 8:00 on Christmas Eve.
