As they approached the village to which they were going, Jesus continued on as if he were going farther. But they urged him strongly, “Stay with us, for it is nearly evening; the day is almost over.” So he went in to stay with them.

This is a picture of our Sunday School class, Christian Beliefs. When we weren’t able to meet in our church building because of the coronavirus, we began to have class over zoom. When the weather got warmer, Sandy and Mike McGinnis invited us to meet in their front yard. They thought it would be large enough for us to spread out, to be near each other but not too close.

We felt that it was important for us to stay in contact with each other, to continue to study and hear God’s word and to care for each other. I feel that the life of our church continues whether we meet inside a building, on zoom or outside in the yard.

We look forward to the Advent season, for the birth of the Christ child and the continuation of our studies. May we take time this Advent season to stop and listen for God’s word.
