Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.

One of Trinity’s missions is to live our faith in God by serving our Community for its betterment.  Although COVID-19 has restricted much of our personal contact in the Community this year, Trinity members have continued to serve by contributing to food banks, the Mattaponi medical clinic, making and distributing protective masks, and volunteering with ministry and charity.

Throughout the year there have been and still are “safe distancing” opportunities to help Bob Argabright with his Oak Grove-Bellemeade Community ministry in south Richmond.  Those in the picture are taking a break from working in the Bellemeade Park and Learning Center’s rain garden and future geology learning area.  Their smiles exemplify the friendship and camaraderie these previous strangers have developed while working together to create what Bob considers “God’s Little Green Acre”.  They are just a few of the many people who have volunteered their time and resources to make this once unused land a community asset.

Good deeds can be performed in many different ways.  We all have diverse talents that, if shared, can have a positive impact on those needing help and support.  Working together to improve the Community allows us to bond with our Christian brothers and sisters, friends and strangers alike in a way that strengthens our relationship with God and the Church.

In the upcoming year can you show your faith by committing to volunteer several hours a week or month to a ministry, charity or community service?

Time to Share

As our first week of Advent draws to a close we hope you will take a moment and share with us or with someone else, as we continue to experience Advent together, while apart. We’ve created an easy upload link for you to drop a photo. This week’s sharing prompt was:

Show us your favorite Christmas decoration and tell us why it brings you joy.

We also would love to see your Trinity ornament on your tree or in your home. 🙂

Here’s a link where you can upload a photo, or use the button below. Learn more about Advent at Trinity and about Week 1 here: https://www.trinityumc.net/advent/#week1
