…that the Son of Man must be handed over to sinners, and be crucified, and on the third day rise again.

Luke 24:7

putting flowers on the cross

It fills my heart with love as I look at this picture of my mom and son placing flowers on the cross Easter morning. I had been coming with my parents to place flowers on the cross for years. Then I got married and the tradition continued. But, I think back to the first time all of us as a family placed flowers on the cross together. Our little family had grown with the addition of our son, Hayden. We were truly blessed. We were so excited and seeing things in a new light and as if for the first time. As a family, Grandfather, Grandmother, Father, Mother, and Son we look forward to this tradition each year.

The disciples’ hopes were crushed when Jesus, mutilated and mocked, took his last breath on the cross. But on the third day He rose from the dead. I wonder if people then, like my family recently, were seeing things in a new light and for the first time after He rose again.
