The Pastor’s Wednesday afternoon study will resume on January 10 at 1:30 PM with “The Gospel of Mark”.

Long ago the church decided that mark offers meaningful insights to those who want to follow Jesus. This Gospel presents a particular perspective on what God is doing int he world through Jesus of Nazareth and tells us how people ought to respond to what God is doing if they desire to be faithful.

Mark presents these insights through its narrative. The Gospel writer did not set out to write something akin to a modern historical account of the life of Jesus. Nor did the writer compose a theology book. Instead the writer tells a story. Mark’s Gospel is a good story for us, if we allow it to be.
