Trinity participates in giving to the Samaritan Offering each spring. This offering benefits many United Methodist Homes including Ceaderfield and the Hermitage. Learn more about that below.
Recognizing that much has happened across the Virginia Conference since last Friday when our first message was distributed about the 2020 Samaritan Offering, we want to share the highlights of our email with you again.
We are in uncertain territory. Through all the anxiety and uncertainty of living in this time of COVID-19, team members at our Pinnacle Living communities have been going above and beyond to support our residents. The financial assistance offered to our most vulnerable residents who receive Samaritan Program support has continued – as has been the commitment of Pinnacle Living since 1948. At the same time, operational support from our Fiscal Year 2020 budget has been redirected to purchase of additional personal protective equipment for team members and residents, cover supplemental leave for those team members dealing with COVID-19 and increased wage and benefit costs.
The traditional time of the Samaritan Offering Appeal in the Virginia Conference churches is Mother’s Day to Father’s Day. This year we are called to do things differently, just as your local churches are doing “church” differently. The need for financial support of the Samaritan Program is greater than normal due to this time in which we find ourselves. Not only do we need your monetary support, we need your help to spread the word. Please tell your friends and family why you believe in our work and encourage them to support us, too!
If you have any questions or if we can be a resource to you in any way, please do not hesitate to contact us.
