Apples for Back to School 2026
The Apple Angel Tree tradition continues for the upcoming school year!
Oak Grove, along with three other Richmond elementary schools, operates on a 200-day school year, adding 20 additional days to the standard schedule. School will begin for Oak Grove students on July 27th this year.
What is the Apple Angel Tree?
Trinity has partnered with Oak Grove for more than 20 years. One of our most popular projects each year has been providing much-needed school supplies. Over 50 Trinity families participate in this effort each year. During the spring, the teachers for grades K-5 provide a list of items they need for the upcoming school year. We turn these lists into “apples” that can be “picked”.
Apples will be “ripe for picking” beginning Sunday, June 28th.
How can we participate?
There are a number of ways to participate:
In-Person Apples
If you worship in person at Trinity or are able to come to Trinity, you can choose an apple from the display boards in the Welcome Center. There will also be a display board in Trinity Hall for those delivering food on Fridays.
Amazon Wish List
The Amazon Wishlist can be found here: https://a.co/05GECjHK
This list will have items that are available in larger quantities or for lower prices through Amazon. The items selected from the list can be delivered directly
to Trinity.
Financial Donations
If you prefer to make a financial donation, you can do this via check (memo “Oak Grove Apple Tree”) or via Subsplash (choose “Back to School Supplies” from the drop-down menu).
Delivering the Supplies
If bringing items to Trinity, please double bag in paper bags. Attach your apple to the outside of the bag. Please deliver to the rear of Trinity Hall by Friday, July 17th.
If having items shipped, please have them delivered to Trinity UMC, 903 Forest Ave., Richmond, VA 23229 by Thursday, July 16th.
Thank you for your continued support of this project!
