Spring Mission Opportunities at the Tuckahoe YMCA

Pack Safety Around Water materials
at the Tuckahoe YMCA
Saturday, April 25 from 9:30am - noon

Drowning is the leading cause of death amongst children age 1-4. One of our mission partners, the Tuckahoe YMCA, addresses this tragedy in part by offering Safety Around Water week. In 2025, SAW week served 1,500 children in the water and 4,000 children on land with activities surrounding water safety.

Our help is needed to assemble water safety tags and package dryland materials for Richmond-area YMCAs. This is an assembly event - no getting near or in the water is required. Families are welcome to participate, though children 14 and younger must be accompanied by a parent. 20-25 volunteers are needed. Please register so we know how many helpers we have!

Stain the Tuckahoe YMCA Wood Pavilion
Sunday, May 3 from 1:00 - 4:00pm

The YMCA pavilion is a key gathering space for the community, and it needs weatherproofing to ensure it remains safe and functional! Let's help one of our mission partners with this important need before summer camp season by staining the pavilion. Join us for an afternoon of service as we do this important work!

This is an adults-only event, as (provided) ladders will be used. 20 volunteers are needed; please register so that we know how many participants to expect!
