“Every day should be a good day for a child!”
Our Facebook Page
Originally established in 1947, Trinity Preschool and Parents’ Morning Out is one of the older preschools in the Richmond area. Trinity Preschool/PMO is a comprehensive weekday program for children between the ages of 1 and 5 years old. It is a developmental program offered in a loving and nurturing environment to help children grow mentally, physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.
Trinity Preschool/PMO is an outreach ministry of Trinity United Methodist Church and admits students of any race, color, and national or ethnic origin.
At Trinity Preschool and Parents’ Morning Out, we believe children learn and grow through play. As a play-based program, we are focused on the child’s natural curiosity, creativity, and desire to learn. We offer a variety of activities such as exploring nature, music, movement, cooking, art, and age appropriate instruction so that each child can reach his or her potential.
In a world that is moving faster each day, our children are able to slow down and grow at their own pace. We teach practical life skills and encourage independence. Trinity Preschool/PMO strives to foster an environment where each child can experience love, confidence, and success. We want our children to have a strong foundation so that they will always have a life-long love for learning.
The learning goals of the Preschool/PMO are:
- To develop oral language skills.
- To develop fine and gross motor skills.
- To develop an independence and confidence in oneself.
- To improve thinking ability and problem solving.
- To develop number concepts and reading readiness skills.
- To respect the property and rights of others.
- To broaden knowledge of the world.
- To be inquiring, seeking, and aware.
- To become aware of God’s love, His world and how He planned it.
Applications may be submitted throughout the school year. A $25 application fee is due with each application. Families currently enrolled, past patrons, and church members are given first priority during the month of September. Open enrollment begins October 1.
Closings will be posted on the Preschool Facebook page.
- If Henrico County schools are closed due to bad weather, Trinity will be closed.
- If Henrico County schools have a 1 hour or 2 hour delay in opening, Trinity will open 1 hour late at 10:00 AM.
- If Henrico County schools close during the morning, Trinity will also close at that time.
Days missed due to inclement weather or emergency closings will not be made up.
After School Program
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons, children may stay after school until 1:30. Each child brings his or her own NUT/PEANUT FREE lunch, eats with his friends, and plays with the other children who stay for Lunch Bunch.
Most often the play is outside on the playground but some play is organized for example, parachute games, chalk drawing, etc.
What Parents are Saying
Trinity Preschool has been like a second home for my kids and my family. The teachers have loved my kids as if they were their own, taught them and nurtured them, and developed a setting that is friendly, accepting, and loving. We are so thankful for Trinity for so many reasons. My kids were successfully prepared for elementary school socially, emotionally, and academically because of the amazing teachers at Trinity. We can’t thank them enough.
What a WONDERFUL preschool. I could not say enough good things about this program and the amazing, loving teachers and directors here at this school.
We couldn’t have asked for a better program with excellent teachers that care about not only how our child grows and develops, but for us as a family. Our little one comes home happy…excited about her day, her teacher, her friends, her artwork and a song in her head.
