Call To Worship

Are any among you suffering?
Then let us pray.
Are any cheerful?
Then let us sing songs of praise.
Are any among you sick?
Then let us turn to each other for God’s healing touch.
The prayer of faith will save us
And God will lift us up.

♪ Singing

“Joy of the Lord”
Chorus
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
The joy of the Lord is my strength.
In the darkness I’ll dance;
in the shadows I’ll sing.
The joy of the Lord is my strength.

Though the tears may fall,
my song will rise; my song will rise to you.
Though my heart may fail,
my song will rise; my song will rise to you.
While there’s breath in my lungs,
I will praise you, Lord.

In the dead of night,
I’ll lift my eyes; I’ll lift my eyes to you.
Though the waters rise,
I’ll lift my eyes; I’ll lift my eyes to you.
While there’s hope in this heart,
I will praise you, Lord. C

When I cannot see you with my eyes
let faith arise to you.
When I cannot feel your hand in mine
let faith arise to you.
God of mercy and love,
I will praise you, Lord. C

“Great Are You, Lord”
You give life. You are love.
You bring light to the darkness.
You give hope. You restore
every heart that is broken.
Great are you, Lord!

Chorus
It’s your breath in our lungs,
so we pour out our praise.
We pour out our praise!

All the earth will shout your praise
Our hearts will cry these bones will sing
Great are you, Lord!

 Opening Prayer

God of unity, we live in a world where our lives
move between inclusivity and exclusivity.
We often move toward the latter,
trying to oust from our circles
those who do not think like us,
act like us, or look like us.
Forgive our need to reject
and to always be on the lookout
for those things that make us different.
Give us the eyes of our Teacher,
who knows unconditional love and compassion
and sees us all as one,
for it is in his name that we pray. Amen.

Affirmation

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
   maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son our Lord:
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
  born of the Virgin Mary,
  suffered under Pontius Pilate,
  was crucified, dead, and buried;
the third day he rose from the dead;
  he ascended into heaven,
and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty
from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
  the holy catholic church,
  the communion of saints,
  the forgiveness of sins,
  the resurrection of the body
  and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and
the glory, forever. Amen.

 ♪ Anthem

“What Joy”
Chorus:
What joy, what joy
For those whose hope is in
the name of the Lord
What peace, what peace
For those whose confidence
is him alone.

You made the heavens and the earth,
the sea and all that is in them.
Your promises remain.
You give justice to the weak.
You care for the widow and orphan.
Forevermore you reign. C

Hallelujah, hallelujah!
Hallelujah, hallelujah!

 ♪ Doxology

Praise God from whom all blessings flow.
Praise God all creatures here below.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Praise God the source of all our gifts!
Praise Jesus Christ whose power uplifts!
Praise the Spirit, Holy Spirit!
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!

♪ Closing Song

“The Well”
I lay my burdens down.
My yoke is easy now.
What a friend I’ve found in you.

Chorus
You’re the Well that won’t run dry.
Only you can satisfy.
Through every season of my life,
you are the well that won’t run dry.

I will thirst no more.
You refresh my soul.
Living waters flow from you. C

You have given me freedom.
You have given me joy.
You have taken my burdens. C
