Trinity Stitchers had 10 members present on our workday, Thursday, March 16. There was a lot of sewing, cutting, sorting, and of course conversation during the workday. Our talented group of women amazingly take pieces of fabric and create one-of-a-kind items that we share with others that need encouragement and joy in their lives.
Last month, we received two rolling carts for our sewing closet and organized our space more efficiently. The carts provide extra storage and easier access to items stored on the closet shelves. The arrangement definitely helped our workday go smoother and makes it much easier to get to items needed.
Donations continue to come our way and keep the group energized. In addition to the lap quilts and prayer shawls, we create tote bags for UMCOR, baby slings for Honduras mission trip each year, special tote bags for individuals, pillows, plus provide sewing skills to other groups in the church that need assistance.
We need others who enjoy knitting or crocheting to help create some prayer shawls. We have patterns available, and encourage you to consider helping in this ministry.
This active group meets the 3rd Thursday of each month in Room 323 from 9:00 A.M. until 2:30-3:00 P.M. (often we get involved in a project stay longer.) We encourage you to join us for whatever time you can. We bring our lunch and share a devotion and business related to the group’s activities at that time. Even if you don’t sew, we can use your hands to help with ironing, sorting, selecting fabrics or designing a quilt top. Once you attend one of our workdays, you will be looking forward to the next one to be engaged with women of great faith and creative energy. We hope to see you soon – we need YOU!
